OUR Doctors
Meet Dr. Joann Choi, O.D.
Dr. Choi was born and raised in Southern California. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Mass Communications from UC Berkeley.
After graduation, her inspiration to become an optometrist was sparked when she went on a medical mission trip to Belize. The ability to change people’s lives through healthcare motivated her to obtain her doctorate at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.
Wanting to further her clinical experience, Dr. Choi completed a residency focusing on ocular disease at the Sepulveda Veterans Affairs Ambulatory Care Center. After residency, she worked in a private ophthalmology office for several years.
She has experience in diagnosing and treating glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration, among many other eye conditions. Dr. Choi has always had a heart for serving underserved populations, and has been involved in several local and international mission trips to provide free eye care.
In her spare time, she enjoys watching the Dodgers, traveling, and spending time with her children and family.
Meet Dr. Kelly Pham, O.D.
Dr. Pham grew up in Westminster, CA and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine, and received her doctorate from Southern California College of Optometry, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Her professional training includes time at the San Diego Naval Hospital in California, Hoopes Vision in Utah, and the Tucson VA Medical Center in Arizona. In addition to primary care, she has experience in diagnosing and treating a variety of ocular conditions such as eye infections, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. She has also worked with ophthalmologists to co-manage LASIK and cataract surgeries.
When she is not doing optometry-related things, Dr. Pham enjoys cooking (Kooking with Kelly), hiking, and attending concerts. She has a passion for traveling to new countries and trying different cultural cuisines.
